Screen a Loan Tape

Upload a loan tape and see what you are buying before you bid. Deal Lens maps your columns, screens every loan against five checks and shows you where each finding came from.

Files up to 10 MB and 1,000 loans · .xlsx, .xls or .csv

Five checks on every loan

The checks are fixed rules, not a model's guess. If a column a check needs was not mapped, that check is reported as skipped rather than run against a guess.

  • Balance integrity

Flags loans with a missing, zero or negative unpaid balance before you price them.

  • Lien position

Catches loans whose lien position is blank or not a recognisable first, second or junior lien.

  • Statute of limitations

Measures time since the last payment against the state's limitation period, and says so plainly when a period isn't known.

  • Matured loans

Finds loans already past their maturity date as of the screening date.

  • Bankruptcy or foreclosure

Reads status text for bankruptcy, foreclosure and similar indicators that change what a loan is worth.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload the tape

Drop in a CSV or Excel file in any column layout, with the header row wherever it happens to be.

  2. 2

    Confirm the columns

Every column is mapped and shown to you first. Nothing is screened until you confirm the mapping.

  3. 3

    Read the findings

Each flagged loan points back to the exact cell it came from, so every finding can be checked.

  4. 4

    Add property data

Pull values, rents and public-record details for the pool, and open any single loan for a closer look.
